This is the commercial website of Ingvar Kenne – Ike - an internationally renowned artist who has been capturing portraits for over 30 years. He has published six monographs and exhibited internationally- England, France, Spain, Sweden, Brazil, Italy, Croatia, the USA, and Australia and more.

In 2009 he was awarded the National Portrait Prize at NPG in Canberra. He has been a finalist a total of nine times.

Kenne’s solo show, Citizen, opened at the National Portrait Gallery, in conjunction with a book launch in 2012, and has since toured five capital cities in Australia.

One of his recent monographs, The Ball, is a right of passage study of regional Australia’s Bachelors & Spinsters Balls. It was launched during Paris Photo 2018.

His first feature film – The Land – has 6 official selections in festivals worldwide. It picked up best direction at the prestigious SNOWDANCE festival in Landsberg, Germany, 2022.

The film is now also accompanied by a book - The LAND | THE FILM | THE SCRIPT | THE SET-BUILD

In both 2020 and 2024, multiple portraits of Kenne’s were selected for the Taylor Wessing Portrait Prize at National Portrait Gallery, London.

His most recent work, an ongoing photographic series titled ‘a portrait of [country]’, continues for Kenne, as an exploration of abandonment as he experiences magical, often inaccessible and harrowing parts of the Land that still echo with their pre-colonial life.

He lives and works in Sydney, Australia.
